Bring your marketing in-house with Adobe InDesign

Adobe InDesign Introduction training begins with a session on basic graphic design principles.  This involves making the best use of graphics, text, colour and other design elements to achieve the purpose for which your documents are created.  Every design piece you produce will communicate with your audience, and successful graphic design occurs when you are able to grab the attention of the reader, and communicate exactly what was intended.

CTO trainers are graphic design experts, and their knowledge of Adobe InDesign allows them to share with you the tips and techniques to help you create your own in-house marketing masterpieces.  Be it a company newsletter, a sales brochure, an advertisement or a management report, learning to use InDesign will help you cut outsourcing costs and allow you to quickly and easily update your existing marketing pieces when required.

So what's covered in the Intro to InDesign course:

- Basic Graphic Design Principles
- InDesign Basics & Tools
- Creating Documents
- Creating Text Frames & Working with Text
- Graphics, Layers & Colour
- Understanding Objects & Formatting Objects
- Creating and Applying Styles
- Working with Tables
- Preparing for Printing

Training is now available in the Adobe Creative Suite 5 version of the software, and CTO can customise your onsite training for you as required.

Software Tip -  Microsoft Excel

Running out of viewing space with multiple worksheets When working with an Excel workbook with multiple worksheets, you can quickly get to the point where you can no longer see all the worksheet tabs in one view. Of course, you can use the built-in tabs navigation buttons, and go the next, previous, first, or last sheet, but there is also a way to see all the sheets and be able to click on the one you want to work on. Simply right-click the tabs navigation buttons at the bottom left of your worksheet, and a floating list of all the worksheets in the workbook will appear. This is especially useful when sheet names are long. This is a great way to navigate quickly around complex spreadsheets.  There are also two great keyboard shortcuts to use when working with multiple worksheets: CTRL+PageUp activates the previous sheet in your workbook, while CTRL+PageDown activates the next one.

Your Say

I thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of the InDesign training.  Our CTO trainer was a wealth of knowledge. Carol Rawson, Williams Partners, Gold Coast, Qld  - Adobe InDesign training

The Powerpoint training was great.  The most valuable thing I learned was that I can now find most things I need - just as if I was working on Excel or Word. It's all there!

Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but we rather have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit. Aristotle
