Lots of fun things happening in the software world at the moment. We have new versions of the Adobe Creative Suite, with the release of Adobe CS5; FileMaker Pro 11 database software has arrived; and Microsoft Office 2010 is on the way. Many of our trainers have been working with beta versions of the new software for some time, so we are ready to provide your training, if you are ready to upgrade.

We also have the CeBIT technology show coming up in Sydney next month, so make a note of the dates if you would like to see all the latest and greatest the IT world has to offer. Details below.

Microsoft Project 2007 Advanced - what's in it for you?

Adobe Creative Suite 5

Adobe Creative Suite 5 introduces loads of new design tools, creating dramatic time savings for everyday tasks, faster performance, and cool features that will make your work stand out in a crowd.

There are a number of options to choose from if you are intending to purchase Creative Suite 5. These are:

- Design Premium - for print, web, interactive and mobile design
- Web Premium - for web design and development
- Production Premium - your video production toolkit
- Master Collection - all the tools to design and deliver across media

Also, there is a new version of Flash Player, which will allow viewing of applications, content and video across a range of devices including smart phones, netbooks, tablets and other gadgets.

There are also a new online services for small to medium business, called Business Catalyst, providing integrated solutions including e-commerce, web hosting, email marketing and custom analytics.

Software Tip - MYOB

Setting up Recurring Payments in MYOB
There are many payments that you will make on a regular basis when working in your business accounts. MYOB allows you to set them up as recurring transactions, saving you time in entering the data each time it needs to be recorded.
Here’s how: Step 1: In the Banking command centre, select Spend Money
Step 2: Enter the date, the cheque number and the amount of the transaction
Step 3: Choose the Card File field, and enter the name of your supplier
Step 4: In the Memo field record details of the payment - eg: Rent payment
Step 5: Add the account number, and tab across to fill in all other columnsStep 6: Before you record your transaction, click on the Save as Recurring button in the lower left hand corner of your screenStep 7: Give your recurring transaction a name, enter the frequency, and the date of the next transactionStep 8: Save the recurring transaction, then click on Record in the Spend Money window to save your original payment
Step 9: The next time you need to record the transaction, select the Spend Money window, then click on the Use Recurring button at the bottom of your window.Step 10: Simply change the date, then record the transaction, and you are done.

It can be difficult to source training materials written specifically for our Mac clients, so I am pleased to let you know that we are now able to provide a range of Mac OS X and Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac training manuals. The titles currently available are:
